Why we built B4C

The call comes first.
Their time shouldn't come last.

B4C comes from one family on a volunteer fire department — and the hours they lose to everything around the call.

My brother Corbin is a captain paramedic — and when he gets off shift, he heads up to the station to handle the paperwork. He, my dad, and my sister-in-law all serve on the North Hood County Volunteer Fire Department. I watch them pour hours into the parts of the job nobody sees — building training plans, running fundraisers, writing agendas — on top of their day jobs, their families, their health, and everything in between.

Most Thursday nights, my sister-in-law leaves my niece with my mom and me so she can go train. They do this because they choose to serve. But the paperwork around that service shouldn't cost them the little time they have left — sitting at a computer for two hours before a business meeting to write a board agenda, or driving to the station to dig through a folder for a document no one can find.

I just want to give some of that time back.

The Fort Worth Police Officers' Association is a client of my other business, so I already have a seat at their table — and I keep hearing the same thing from a different world. They wanted to get a gift card into the hands of every patrol officer. Over 800 emails needed to be tracked down, and they were going to have to find each one manually. The administrative side of these organizations gets neglected, and not out of laziness. It's neglected because the work these people do is more important. The call is more dire than the training plan or the fundraiser. Their service is the focus — and it should stay the focus.

That's exactly why we're building B4C: to take some of the workload off, so the call and the cause can stay front and center. No time lost searching for a document or trying to remember where something's kept. No endless texts and calls about what time something starts, or who to reach out to when someone sprains an ankle, or where the handbook lives. It's all right at their fingertips — and the time they get back goes where it belongs.

For a volunteer firefighter, that's an evening with their family. For a POA board member, it's being able to actually help their officer. For an EMS crew, it's a smoother handoff so the next life-saving call is ready to go. For a police officer, it's knowing their rights, not just reading someone else's. For a student on their way to becoming a first responder — and the people teaching them — it's staying organized and making sure that cadet is ready. Whatever the discipline, B4C is the conduit that carries some of the load, so the people who serve before they're paid can keep their focus where it matters most.

Who's behind it

B4C is built by Big Bull Technologies LLC. We're small on purpose — small enough that when you call, you reach a person, not a ticket queue, and small enough to build the thing your department actually needs instead of the thing that demos well.

We're not a vendor selling to first responders from the outside. We're one family's answer to watching the people we love give more than they have to — and we'd rather earn one department's trust than claim a hundred we don't have.
