01 Welcome

This Trust Center serves as the central source of information for how Before the Call (“B4C”) operates, how Big Bull Technologies manages the platform, and what customers can expect when using our software.

We believe transparency is an essential part of building software for first responder organizations. Our goal is to provide clear, accessible documentation that explains not only what our platform does, but also what it does not do.

Whether you are evaluating Before the Call for your department, administering your organization’s account, or reviewing our platform as part of a procurement process, this documentation is designed to help you make informed decisions with confidence.

02 Our Mission

Big Bull Technologies created Before the Call with a simple goal:

Help first responder organizations spend less time managing administration and more time serving their communities.

Volunteer and combination departments often operate with limited time, limited staffing, and significant administrative responsibilities. Before the Call is designed to reduce that administrative burden by helping departments organize information, improve consistency, and streamline everyday administrative tasks.

Technology should support the people who serve — not create additional complexity.

03 What Before the Call Is — and Is Not

What it is

An administrative operations platform built specifically for first responder organizations, designed to assist with:

  • Training administration
  • Meeting management
  • Attendance tracking
  • Document management
  • Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) organization
  • Recruitment planning
  • Fundraising planning
  • Administrative communications
  • Organizational planning
  • Social media planning
  • Record organization
  • Department administration

What it is not

Before the Call is intentionally designed with clear operational boundaries. The platform does not provide:

  • Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD)
  • Emergency dispatch services
  • Incident management
  • Incident Command System (ICS) functionality
  • Emergency communications
  • Patient care documentation
  • Electronic Patient Care Reporting (ePCR)
  • Live emergency response coordination
  • Real-time operational decision support

These tools are intended to help departments operate more efficiently outside of emergency response activities. Departments should continue using operational systems specifically designed for emergency response and incident management.

Our focus begins before the call — supporting the administrative work that prepares organizations for successful operations.

04 Our Commitment to Transparency

We believe trust is earned through openness and consistency.

This Trust Center is intended to explain:

  • How our platform operates
  • How customer information is managed
  • How artificial intelligence is used
  • How security is approached
  • What responsibilities belong to Big Bull Technologies
  • What responsibilities remain with our customers

When changes are made to our platform or policies, we strive to update this documentation so it continues to reflect how Before the Call operates.

05 Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is used within Before the Call to assist with administrative productivity. Depending on the features available to your organization, AI may assist with tasks such as:

  • Drafting meeting minutes
  • Organizing administrative information
  • Generating planning suggestions
  • Summarizing documents
  • Assisting with content creation
  • Organizing administrative workflows

Artificial intelligence is intended to support administrative work — not replace human judgment. Departments remain responsible for reviewing and approving AI-generated content before relying on it for official use.

Additional information is available in the Administrative Intelligence & AI Policy.

06 Security & Privacy

Protecting customer information is an important responsibility.

Big Bull Technologies is committed to implementing reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate for the services we provide.

Information regarding our security practices, privacy principles, and data management policies is available throughout this Trust Center.

07 Our Documentation Philosophy

We believe documentation should be understandable.

Where possible, we write documentation using plain language instead of unnecessary legal or technical terminology.

Our objective is to help department administrators, chiefs, board members, municipal leaders, and other stakeholders quickly understand how Before the Call operates.

If additional clarification is needed, we encourage customers to contact us.

08 Continuous Improvement

Before the Call is continually evolving.

As new capabilities are introduced or existing features change, this documentation may be updated to reflect those changes.

Version information and revision histories are maintained throughout the Trust Center to help customers understand when documents have been updated.
